the fact is dishonesty is bad and pretending the Bible has useful
knowledge is dishonest and so is pretending the fictional characters of
the bible are real.
Sure,
they may make you feel good - like any drug, but they are used as an
excuse by people to do bad things and at the very least they make you
blind to things like families driving their innocent homosexual children
to suicide at a rate of 6 per day in the USA alone.
